Please contact me if you are interested. Thanks.

What's Lancelot Sword?

The optimized fighting swords inspired by real life combat.

When your home is attacked by an unknown number of invaders, wielding whatever melee weapons and you have no way to retreat or escape. Plus, you are the only person who can possibly fight back, what do you want to have in hand? Any sword that would get stuck inside your enemy even if you land a hit, will be useless.

Why Lancelot Swords are so robust and hefty?

Pudao and polearms, the invaders' weapon of choice in China.

The robust grip helps disperse the shock of impacts from polearms attacks. You'll also needs extreme cutting power at the farthest reach, to go through multiple fabric covered opponents while staying safe yourself.

After all, you are your family only hope to survive the encounter.

In depth analysis of cutting power

Discussed about edge apex, edge plane geometry, blade geometry, rotatory acceleration, top speed before hitting the target, penetration speed, speed lost inside the target, reach and top speed relationship, reach and speed lost relationship and etc.

Max Difficulty Cuts: Supreme Cutter Ultra vs Fabric covered Monster target

Edwin Chan with my design Musashi Odachi doing cutting up to thigh target, then switched to a Ming Chang Dao to cut fabric covered thigh. Then it was up to me to use Supreme Cutter Ultra to cut fabric covered monster target!

German Battle Sword 7 difficult strikes challenge

Master swordsmen skill compare episode 14. This time we take a look into different A-class movements. Upper left swordsman used hip movement to start the cut. Lower left one used walking to start the cut. I also used hip to start the cut, but added with high speed zone powered by Musashi grip. The upper left swordsman's speed is impressive in itself, and out-sped the lower left swordsman by a lot. They both cut through the same difficult targets. So the hip form of A-class movement allows a faster cut without sacrificing power. I out-sped the upper left swordsman's speed only because of the utilization of Musashi-grip powering the high speed zone. His hip movement is very impressive. This is how I compare techniques.

Master swordsmen skill compare episode 12. I totally lost the speed competition to master Kim in combo cuts in the past. So my student asked about the single cut

Hon Wing with current technique, compared to James Williams and 2016 me using traditional Chinese technique.

My student Desun Chan as the compare person, showing the skill is replicable and a heavier, longer sword, paired with the right skill, can be faster than the shorter and lighter sword.

My student Maxwell Leung as the compare person, showing the skill is replicable and a heavier, longer sword, paired with the right skill, can be faster than the shorter and lighter sword.

Requested by a sword friend, this is the third episode of compare. This time I explain how I do this clips, as well as what caused the speed difference in detail.

Testing the techniques I taught students with high difficulty targets. Supreme Cutter Ultra vs thigh targets while on the move.

I and Hon Wing cut forearm targets placed low while on the move with Supreme Cutter Compact Lancelot-Sharp and Supreme Cutter Classic Lancelot-Sharp respectively. The lack of high speed zone issue in Hon Wing's cutting skill starts to show when tackling these high difficulty challenges.

I try cutting upper arm and thigh targets with Supreme Cutter Classic Lancelot-Sharp™ while moving side way to show the students who are learning the skill that how it should be done. Turns out I learned something myself too!

Universal Swordsmanship tutorial at shop

Supreme Cutter Compact Lancelot-Sharp™ vs low height forearm target with "High Speed Zone" only, on single leg This is a demo I did for a remote student, to show him how to use only "high speed zone" to do a cut. Many HEMA / Traditional martial artists / JSA practice cutting with maximum structural power and do not understand why I practice cutting in "weak" position. If you look at it in modern combat shooting, deploying the bipod and shoot from prone position provide the best accuracy for sure. However, why is it not done the most often? Because it takes a long preparation time, and lack mobility. Combat environment would limit its application. Instead, they practice shooting in whatever position they can, be it sideway, or on the fly. Basically the less constrain, the better. This is why I practice being able to cut limb targets with as little constrain as possible. So that I can do the cut without consideration and with way more freedom.

Supreme Cutter Compact indoor cuts

Putting the technique I taught student in Universal Swordsmanship Lesson 29 to test, cutting in cramped environment.

Pressure testing my new technique Musashi grip powering cuts with the big sword Supreme Cutter Ultra Lancelot-Sharp, on thigh target. The bigger the sword is, the harder to aim with it and the harder to accelerate it. So it will truly test the new technique's worthiness.

Verifying the improvement of a new technique.

Supreme Cutter Ultra vs LK Ming Imperial Guard Chang Dao

My student brought in both swords to practice today, originally only going to cut with Supreme Cutter Ultra. However, I asked him to cut with the LK Ming Imperial Guard Chang Dao as well, to see if he could cut well with it with the improved high speed zone technique. Also, there was an accuser who claimed that particular LK sword would just do as good as mine. So we put this debate to rest once and for all through action.

Sammy test cutting upper arm and thigh targets
